It's the ocean.

Do not ask what took me so long to get on the bus and ride 15 minutes out of town and see the ocean. Silly me, the big beautiful Pacific is sitting right here next to me. Check this link if you are curious to see a map <http://www.ccc.govt.nz/maps/wises/>. I live in the bottom left corner of section 13, in Spreydon. I visited the coast in the top right area of section 15 near the word Bexley, just at the base of the spit and the area is called Brighton. Of course there are pictures. In one of them there is a building that leads out the very long pier, about 400 meters into the water. That building is a public library. Talk about encouraging literacy - come to the beach and read! Also you'll see that some cold fellas are surfing. It was so wonderful to see the ocean. Growing up near the water and around boats, it is a real blessing to be near it here in New Zealand. I threw in a lovely photo of myself finally to prove that I am here. Yeah, the one that looks a kid climbing on the roof of a building is really a kid climbing on the roof of a building. Don't you worry, he was fine after the fall. Small building.

After the beach I visited the cathedral that I have posted pictures of previously. The one in the center of town. It is Good Friday and they had a beautiful choir service. It is an Anglican church, so it was very traditional and included the the pipe organ and some songs that we all joined in on. It was the mens choir actually with very young boys taking care of the higher octaves. No pictures sorry, have to be respectful. I actually went not as a tourist but as myself to remember and reflect on Christ's death for us.
