Here we have the Avon River that runs right down the middle of the city. On the weekends you can buy SkinSoSoft from passing gondolas. And every city needs a brewery of course. This is the home of Canterbury Draught. Canterbury is the region of New Zealand that Christchurch is in. Notice the nice 65-66 Shelby GT350 in the foreground (it's a Mustang if you didn't know, a really good one). I am guessing I won't be seeing too many of those around. It was a very nice example too.
I am still realizing how much smaller this city is in comparison to Seattle. I had a great lunch with some other expatriates today. One couple has been here for two months and moved here from Vashon Island. What are the odds, eh? They were pointing out where they live and some good trails near. It looked far on the map, but it's actually only a 20 minute bike ride. Oh, I think I am getting a bike. I can just about anywhere in Christchurch within 30 minutes on a bike. We'll get a car eventually but only when one of us gets settled into a job, maybe a little sooner.
Only two until I meet Charisa in Auckland. I'll start counting in days and hours once we get to a week. You know, like parents refer to the age of their kids in months until they hit 2 or 3 years old. I think that is a way for us to test our math on a regular basis. OK...26 months... that's almost 3 right?
A little disclaimer for those who care. I have to shoot in JPEG mode on my camera since I don't have my computer to "develop" RAW files. So that's why they are not up to my normal snuff. I will do better later, I promise.
