We were told it didn't snow very much in Christchurch. Well it did today. It was Charisa's first day of work. Oh yeah, she took a job at Canesis. It is in Lincoln, a little town about 20 minutes outside of Christchurch. I got up to take drive her to work and looked out at a very white neighborhood with big fat flakes falling steadily. The roads were fine though, just a slushy snow. It rained a little bit then the temp dropped quite a bit and the snow came down more. Right now the storm gutters are flowing like rivers and there is another cold front on its way. It might be an interesting morning tomorrow.
We have started looking at houses in earnest now. We found out we can borrow a little less than we expected, so a fixer upper is our future. We are trying to find one in a good neighborhood so we can put some money and work into and sell it in a year or so for a decent profit. Or we may just love it so much we stay for awhile. We have one in particular we think might make a good investment. It is actually just down the street from where we are staying at Bruce's. It is already a good neighborhood that seems to be getting better. So they say buy the lowest house in a good neighborhood and fix it up and be in good shape. Also with me not finding a job just yet, we are thinking I can put lots of my time into the renovations, at least until I get a job. I also will try to get a part time job during this time, to have some more money coming in and to be able to work on a house. This house also has an attached sleepout with a full bathroom/toilet and kitchen, so it will be great for guests and eventually to rent out to help with the mortgage payments. We will see how it goes.
We are still checking out churches to see what is happening in Christchurch. We keep getting giggles when we tell people we want to be a part new Foursquare church, since there is a national chain a small groceries that are called Foursquare. We actually met a woman this past Sunday who had become a Christian at a Foursquare church in Perth, Australia. We are thinking, when the church plant happens, it might be good to have it out East of Christchurch. That is the way the city spreading out to.
Well I must be off. I have a bunch more pictures to upload, of course some of the snow, so keep looking here.

So, I actually had to stop and think about why you were getting snow so late in the year, and then I remembered that you were literally on the other side of the world. Things sound fun there - perhaps when you settle to stay you can hook us up with a place to visit in the distant future. Cheers
