Southshore, Christchurch. This is overlooking the spit that protects the large estuary in front of Christchurch, from the Pacific Ocean.
Ornithologist from Holland, Southshore. This guy was studying a bird that migrates from New Zealand to Alaska to Korea every year. The leg from NZ to Alaska takes these birds 6-7 days of 24/7 flying. They lose 50% of their body mass over the trip. It is the longest migration of any bird species. The species you ask? Can't remember, sorry.
