I got into Tennessee last night. I am swinging through before I fly back across the country to Los Angeles. I'll be back on a plane on Wednesday to head back to L.A. I am going to visit my old pastor and some friends and spend a couple days with the people at Foursquare Missions. My flight to Christchurch is on Friday night.
Leaving Charisa at the security checkpoint at SeaTac airport was one of the hardest things I have ever done. We will be apart for a month, the longest since we've been married. I will miss all my friends and family in Seattle, but being apart from Charisa will be harder I think. I know it's only a month in the many years we'll be together, but she's my wife and best friend for crying out loud. I feel like I am missing a limb.
But I am glad I left early to see my brother and family here in Kingston Tennessee. His 11 year old daughter and almost three old son are so fun to be around. I had to see them one more time before leaving. It will be a long time before we see them again. It's just too expensive and hard to fly to New Zealand with young kids.
